Infant & Toddler Oral Wellness Program:

Supporting healthy oral development from pregnancy through age three.

Most myofunctional therapy programs begin around age four, when children are developmentally ready to learn and perform exercises. But the foundation for healthy oral function begins much earlier—from pregnancy through the first years of life.

There is a critical window from newborn to age three when jaw growth, oral posture, feeding patterns, reflexes, and airway development are rapidly forming—often without consistent monitoring or guidance.

This is the gap that inspired my journey into breastfeeding, lactation, and infant oral function.

Why Early Oral Wellness Matters

Early oral development influences:

  • feeding success

  • jaw and facial growth

  • airway development

  • reflex integration

  • posture and movement

  • future chewing, swallowing, and speech patterns

Small imbalances early on can contribute to feeding challenges, oral habits, and functional concerns later in childhood. This program is designed to support development proactively, not reactively.

What This Program Includes

The Infant & Toddler Oral Wellness Program begins with prenatal support and continues through your child’s first three years of life.

At each visit, I will:

  • Reassess facial growth and oral development

  • Evaluate feeding function (breast, bottle, and solids as age-appropriate)

  • Screen for signs of oral dysfunction or restriction

  • Discuss oral habits and environmental influences

  • Review products such as pacifiers, bottles, teethers, and feeding tools

  • Explain how these choices may impact oral and facial growth

  • Monitor milestones and development

  • Refer to trusted providers when needed

Questions This Program Helps Answer

Parents often ask:

  • Do I need to worry about a lip or tongue tie?

  • What pacifiers are best for my baby’s oral development?

  • How do I prepare my baby for my return to work?

  • Why is tummy time so important?

  • What teethers support healthy development?

  • When should my baby start solids?

  • What is baby-led weaning?

  • Why is it important to let milestones develop naturally?

  • What are primitive reflexes, and why do they matter?

This program provides guidance, reassurance, and clarity during a time when families are often overwhelmed with information.

Program Timeline

This program follows a schedule similar to pediatric well visits to ensure consistent monitoring during key growth phases.

Prenatal Visit

  • Feeding plan discussion

  • Education on oral development and early habits

  • Preparation for birth and feeding

Newborn Visit

  • Baseline oral and functional assessment

  • Feeding support

  • Evaluation of oral structures and reflexes

Ongoing Visits

  • Follow-up appointments at approximately
    3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 18 months, 24 months, and 36 months

At each visit, we reassess oral growth, feeding skills, reflex development, and milestones—addressing concerns early and supporting natural progression.

Reflexes & Development

Primitive reflexes play a critical role in movement, coordination, and nervous system development.
Assessing and supporting reflex integration early can help:

  • improve regulation

  • support feeding and movement

  • promote smoother developmental transitions

We focus on gentle, age-appropriate ways to support your baby’s growth—never forcing milestones, always respecting the body’s natural timeline.

A Preventative, Supportive Approach

This program is ideal for families who want:

  • proactive guidance

  • early screening and education

  • support without pressure

  • a whole-body, functional approach to development

My goal is to help babies grow comfortably, confidently, and healthfully, while empowering parents with knowledge and support.
